BOON & CO (PTE) LTD started business in Singapore in 1942. The founder was the late Mr. Tay Thuan Boon. The Company is family owned. From the humble beginning of a small shop in Singapore's ''Change Alley", the Company has grown to its present size. BOON HI-TECH SUPERSTORE PTE LTD, an associate company of Boon & Co, operates retail business in town.

The late Mr. Tay Thuan Boon had over 50 years experience in the retailing business. Through his correct business acumen and decisions the business prospered and in the process he trained his sons well in his business. Mr. Tay was also a member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce as well as other clubs and societies. He was awarded the PBM by the President of Singapore for community services and contributions.

Mr. Patrick Tay, who ranked fifth in the family, is the current Company's Managing Director with more than 37 years of experience in the trade. He has understudied his father well since the fifties even before leaving school, and now makes most of the key business decisions. His business contacts are extensive and wide. Under his charge, he has trained several key and loyal staff. Together with his brothers and senior managerial staff, they have moulded the company into what it is today.
